U.S. Consulate General Lagos is the Mission’s representative to the Nigerian people in the southern region.

Summary
- The U.S. Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the State Program Assistant in the Economic Section.
Duties
- Under the supervision of the Deputy Economic Counselor, position will manage Post’s non-PD grants portfolio, including the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help program, the Democracy and Human Rights (DHRF) program.
- Julia Taft Fund for Refugees, PEPFAR Small Grants, Regional Environment Office Small Grants, and other non-Public Diplomacy grant opportunities at the U. S. Mission in Nigeria, ensuring all federal assistance funds are awarded and liquidated according to their respective rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Evaluations
- All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a High Risk Public Trust security clearance.
- All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
- Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Education Requirements
- 2-year university studies in Liberal Arts, Business, Finance or Accounting is required.
Experience:
- Three (3) years of progressive experience working with NGOs, community groups, or private development is required.
- Experience in project management, grant management, grant writing, contracting, vouchering, and budgeting are required.
Salary
- $53,043 / Per Year.
